The Miramar and Maupuia Community Centre is a heritage building, built in 1911 and originally used as a town hall. The building is owned by Wellington City Council and managed by the Miramar Maupuia Community Trust (MMCT). The Trust is a not for profit registered Charitable Trust that was established in December 2014 and took over management of the Centre from Wellington City Council in November 2014. The Trust is responsible for the governance of the Centre and employs staff (Centre Coordinator, Administrator and Cleaner) who are responsible for the day-to-day running of the Centre. The Miramar Maupuia Community Trust is committed to ensuring the Community Centre is available for community use, and that it offers a wide variety of programmes and activities for the many and diverse communities in the area. The Centre also plays a critical role in building community connections, providing information, and fostering relationships with key stakeholders.
