Caring for teenagers can be challenging and isolating. It can be difficult to understand their world and know how to support them on their journey to adulthood.

Hāngī Nights - Te Ora Hou

Hāngī night
Second & fourth Fri of month, 5-7 PM

Every two weeks Te Ora Hou steam cooks hangi packs. Each hangi is hot and made fresh from the Miramar & Maupuia Community Centre. Includes: pork, chicken, stuffing, potato, pumpkin, kumara and cabbage.

Gametime

Friday 3pm

GameTime - this is a fantastic opportunity for them to have fun, stay active, and build new skills in a supportive, engaging environment.

GameTime classes are all about developing confidence, coordination, and essential motor skills through play. Each class introduces children to fundermental movements like jumping, catching, throwing, and balancing, along with social skills like turn-taking, listening, and teamwork. Our imaginative games and themes keep kids excited and focused, helping them learn and grow while having a great time.

Class Details:

  • Location: Miramar & Maupuia Community Centre

  • Day & Time: Fridays at 3:00 PM

  • Duration: 30-minute sessions

  • Cost: $15 per class (payable by cash each session or invoiced at the end of the term)

MMCC Drop In

Come along to MMCC for a warm drink, and a chat. If there is anything specific you would like to see at this time let us know. We have recently got some adult colouring in books you can give a go - these are great for relaxing.

You will find us in Whare Tumanako (the left hand entrance of the building, opposite to the office)

Beginner Pilates

Monday’s 12- 1pm

Core+More : Pilates and Movement Specialist

Starting Monday 10th February, there will be ten weeks of beginner Pilates on Mondays 12-1pm. $10 drop in, bring a mat if you have one but some are available.

Class is open to complete beginners and beyond. Options will be given to regress and progress exercises.

Aikido - Self Defence Class

Elevate confidence, coordination and fitness levels with Riai Aikido 10-week foundation course. Experience the power of non-aggressive material art of Aikido that focuses on throws and joint locks for self defence.

  • Suitable for ages 13 and older

  • No previous material arts experience needed

  • Wear track pants and a loose top to begin or wear gi if you have one
